Blogging, being a youth worker, studying psychology and being an gaming fan led me to want to combine all of these skills and create a new concept I’m coining an eYouth Club.
What is eYouth gaming? It is a concept which involves a coach and runs like a normal sports club, but online in virtual environments, meeting at set times on regular days. Like physical sports clubs gamer guides aim to develop young peoples confidence, self esteem as well as teaching patience, persistence and resilience. Another priority for eYouth clubs is to build appropriate social friendships online in a safe and fun way. All the finer details will be clarified once trailed and survey feedback has been evaluated.
From conversations I’ve had with parents and young people the overall situation is that people are connected online now more than ever, and this isn’t going to slow down! We are going through a period in time where contrasting research shows screen time can be good, bad and everything in-between. Research also highlights that parents really don’t know how to regulate, restrict game time or understand whether restricting game time is even the right thing to do!
My aim is to provide quality supervision for all abilities online, whether you’re LGBT, socially isolated or the parent of a kid that wants to game in a safe environment; AllSafe eClub is about helping kids thrive and regulate themselves in the modern connected world.

I welcome any questions you may have and would love to hear your opinions on this concept.
Thanks for reading and keep on gaming!
