Hi, thanks for popping by. I’m guessing because you found this website you have found happiness through gaming or gaming has helped you through some tough situations in life?
I am a Psychology student who also works as a youth worker with complex young people who have a range of challenging issues such as ADHD, Autism, Anti Social behaviour and Social, Emotional and Mental Health vulnerabilities.
In 2016 I wrote my own Blog on Tumblr and was fairly overwhelmed when reminiscing about my time gaming when I was a teenager. This was my first awakening to the life changing power that video games can have on a person. Video gaming is becoming more and more common place, and as a culture we find ourselves constantly connected online, immersing in game play more than ever! Many people use video gaming to escape from real life problems or to build positive online relationships. Video games are really versatile because they can help people in overcome tough situations as well as give people a platform to develop new skills, for example a shy person may be able to create meaningful friendships online, through gaming.
Research shows video games are proven to improve peoples mental well-being when used appropriately (such as moderate game time and with positive peers). Having experienced both benefits explained here I tried to find a Blog or community that celebrated video gaming for the way gaming can heal and enrich peoples lives in times of need, I was heartbroken to find such a great Blog that was no long being maintained. Therefore the purpose of this website is to share positive testimonials from people who have utilized video games in powerful and positive ways.
As a bolt on, I will also share my work with young people. I aim to develop social learning, embedded functional learning (such as English and Math) as well as develop young people morally through the use of video games, technology and other game play.
